United Kingdom laws governing basic obscenity are not sufficient enough against animal crush video. These videos should be categorized in the same bracket as child pornography. In 2002 the U.K. recorded its first crush video case. A man and 3 women from the Stoke-on-Trent area pleaded guilty to animal cruelty charges and conspiracy to publish obscene material. Craig Chapman, 27, Christine Besford, 25, Sarah Cooke, 21, and Theraza Smallwood, 22, pleaded guilty to crushing a kitten, a guinea pig and a several mice. They essentially got a slap on the wrist under the basic obscenity law. It was a relatively small fine and under a year in prison. In contrast, under the Animal Crush Video Prohibition Act of 2010, these 4 perpetrators would have received up to 7 years each in prison and a very hefty fine.”

Last night we showed the shocking video of Tim Sappington shooting a horse to make a point against all animal activists who might get in his way. He stated “All you animal activists, fuck you” and then shot the horse at point blank range. This could be considered a hate crime against all of us who have spoken out against the Roswell NM horse slaughter house. The owner of the slaughter house intends to hire 40-100 people, and Tim is the first employee of Valley Meat Co.

We must all band together and put a stop to this. What Tim did may very well be the catalyst to ending the possibility of the horse slaughter house in Roswell, but we must join together to make that happen.
